Every Little Bit Helps!
With summer upon us, a lot of people rely on the marvel of air conditioning to create a cool oasis inside. However, air conditioners consume a lot of electricity as they perform their task. Additionally, homeowners and business owners alike spend a lot of money on cool roofs, Low-E coated windows, and high-efficiency HVAC systems… But the reality is that many cooling solutions are much simpler & less expensive than one realizes!
Among the most common, and most effective, is the utilization of programmable thermostats. Although many homes and offices feature these technological wonders, only about a third are programmed to provide maximum efficiency and cost savings.
To that end, consistent filter replacement and overall unit maintenance goes a long way towards ensuring the unit runs at peak performance.
Another simple solution is to incorporate blackout curtains for windows that receive direct sunlight. This prevents solar heat gain and can reduce energy use tremendously.
